essential music theory, and how the chromatic music scale relates directly to

Theory 102 - Tunes of the Civil War.
Wilmington Room - Saturday and Sunday 10:30 AM.. Hilde Binford, PhD, (Moravian College),
Sue and John Pappas (Paxinosa Ridge). One hundred and fifty years after the
Civil War, many tunes remain popular today. Bring your instruments and voices
to the workshop as we remember the music of the Union and Confederate soldiers.
Our "set list" includes Battle Cry of Freedom, Dixie, Battle Hymn of
the Republic (John Brown's Body), Soldier's Joy, The Soldier's Dream, Arkansas
Traveler, Billy in the Low Grounds, Hell Broke Loose in Georgia, George Booker
(Camp Chase), Home Sweet Home, When Johnny Comes Marching Home...and more.
Intensive
Fiddle. Wilmington Room - Saturday 3:30
PM - with Kerry Craig.
Kerry will cover a range of topics in this more intensive and longer workshop
geared to accommodate participant’s questions and needs … for all levels.
Saturday
Wilmington Room - Sunday 1 PM to 3 PM David Poland and Associates (Music School of Delaware) will present an extended workshop on dynamics, developing tone…and more. With: Mark Unruh, Mandolin - picking styles, improvisation, and rhythm. Steve Lutke, Banjo - mastering the 5 string, tone and technique, the banjo in any style of music. Christopher Braddock, Guitar - Reading and playing chord progressions, tone and tech. Bluegrass and jazz in today's music for guitar. Jason Borisoff, Guitar - Picking leads in the BG context, rhythm and lead guitar and the acoustic guitar, how to get heard (stage sound) for the guitar, singin' and a pickin'. David Poland, Fiddle - Working with tone, dynamics, and the use of the bow in several styles of fiddle playing.

times) with Dana Sutcliffe, Master Luthier, Dana Sound Research.
Dana will be available for questions
regarding repairs, set ups, strings, woods, frets, tools, electronics and
accessories related to all instruments. He will have examples of tools and
building materials related to the topics of discussions..
Injury Prevention for
Musicians. Annapolis Room – Saturday
and Sunday (see schedule
for times) with Kathy de Plaza N.D. Why Knot? Wellness & Massage, LLC in
West Grove, PA. Kathy will focus on the ability to maintain muscle health and
flexibility while playing your instrument until you drop! There will be a good bit of hands on work
during the workshop. She has been playing flatpick bluegrass guitar for
five years and has a good understanding of musician injuries.
